Champions Bring Back Brockett, Release Fischer

Ottawa, ON – The OTTAWA CHAMPIONS have signed IF RYAN BROCKETT and released IF BRANDON FISCHER.

BROCKETT, 27, played in 38 games for the Trois-Rivieres Aigles in 2017 where he batted .238 with seven RBI.

The Guilford, CT native played 17 games for the Champions in 2016, batting .268 with three RBI.

In six career seasons Brockett has played for the Champions, Aigles, Schaumburg Boomers, Gary SouthShore RailCats, and Worcester Tornadoes.

FISCHER, 22, played 16 games for the Champions in 2017, batting .139 with four RBI in 36 at-bats and also pitched a scoreless inning in a game against the Quebec Capitales.

The East Northport, NY native played his college baseball at St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkhill, NY.

The Champions have also activated RHP CHRIS MOTTA from the disabled list and placed RHP MATT TULLEY on the disabled list.

MOTTA, 27, has made 10 appearances for Ottawa in 2017, compiling a 5.51 ERA with five strikeouts and 15 walks in 16.1 innings pitched.

TULLEY, 23, has appeared in five games (four starts) for Ottawa after being signed on June 22nd, and is 1-1 with a 7.14 ERA.
