Capitales Snap Champions Eight Game Winning Streak

Ottawa, ON – With an Aumont-Gelinas pitching duel and a full crowd on deck, the Quebec Capitales snapped the Ottawa Champions eight game winning streak with a 4-1 win.
The Capitales opened up the scoring in the third inning. Yurisbel Gracial hit a RBI single to give the Capitales a 1-0 lead.
A bases loaded double play with no outs in the fourth gave them a 2-0 lead.
In the sixth inning, Adam Ehrlich hit a RBI double to right field and Daniel Rockett hit a RBI single to center field to give the Capitales a 4-0 lead.
Tyson Gillies finally put the Champions on the board with a solo homerun to right field in the seventh inning.
Adam Eggnatz retired the side in the top of the ninth inning to give the Champions a chance.
Tyson Gillies hit a RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning. The Champs lost the game 4-2 and suffered their first loss since July 5th, also against Quebec.
Phillipe Aumont (L, 3-2) didn’t have his best showing allowing four runs on nine hits.On the other hand, Karl Gelinas (W, 4-2) only allowed one run on seven hits.
The Champions wrap up their homestand on Sunday against the Capitales at 1:35 pm at RCGT Park.
