All-Star Skills Competition Participants Announced

Ottawa, ON – All-Star managers Hal Lanier and Rick Forney have chosen their participants for the three components of the All-Star Skills Competition, taking place Monday, July 24th at 7:05 pm at RCGT Park.

The Skills Competition will be divided into three events – Outfielder Throwing Accuracy, Fastest Baserunner, and Catcher Throwing Accuracy.

Outfield Throwing Accuracy

The Can-Am League will be represented by New Jersey Jackals OF JOHNNY BLADEL, Quebec Capitales OF KALIAN SAMS, and Ottawa Champions OF SEBASTIEN BOUCHER while Wichita Wingnuts OF’s HARRISON KAIN and T.J. MITTELSTADT, and Sioux City Explorers OF JAYCE RAY will represent the American Association.

A hockey net with five targets will be set up at home plate and each outfielder will be tasked with hitting as many of the targets as possible.

Fastest Baserunner

New Jersey Jackals OF JOHNNY BLADEL, Rockland Boulders IF DYLAN TICE, and Ottawa Champions OF SEBASTIEN BOUCHER will represent the Can-Am League while Wichita Wingnuts OF HARRISON KAIN, Sioux City Explorers OF JAYCE RAY, and Winnipeg Goldeyes 3B WES DARVILL will represent the American Association.

Each participant will go head-to-head with an American Association counterpart, with one running from home to home, and the other running from second to second. The winner of each round will move on, with the best time receiving a bye to the final.

Catcher Throwing Accuracy

Ottawa Champions C DANNY GRAUER and Quebec Capitales C MAXX TISSENBAUM will represent the Can-Am League, while Lincoln Saltdogs C DASHENKO RICARDO and Wichita Wingnuts C MARTIN MEDINA will represent the American Association.

A hockey net with five targets will be set up behind second base and each catcher will be tasked with hitting as many of the targets as possible.

TSN 1200 hosts Steve Warne and Shawn Simpson will emcee the event and take part in some of the festivities. Media are welcome to attend and be at field level for both the Skills Competition and Home Run Derby.
