White's heroics lift Quebec over Ottawa

OTTAWA - INF TJ White swatted two home runs, a two-run shot and a three-run homer. The three-run home run gives him nine on the season and it came in a huge spot. White’s three run homer put Quebec in the lead for good after the Champions were on top mid-way through the game.

Quebec touched up RHP Austin Chrismon for six earned runs over six innings. He also gave up nine hits, walked three and struck out three. His season record drops to 8-10.

LF Brian Portelli had a solo home run and is up to five on the season. RF Steve Brown collected his 11th and continues to lead the champions with 55 runs driven in. DH Sebastien Boucher tacked on two hits in the loss and his batting average is up to 326.

LHP Jay Johnson pitched seven solid innings, allowing nine hits, four runs and struck out five. He improves to 7-2 on the season. RHP Trevor Bayless shut the door for his fourth save.

LF Yordan Manduley continues his hot hitting of late, with three hits tonight his batting average is up to 331 on the campaign.

Quebec will take on Sussex County for a three-game series at Skylands Stadium. They are six games behind the Miners for the top spot in the Can Am League.

Ottawa will be home the rest of the season, starting with a three-game set against Trois Rivieres tomorrow night.
