A doubleheader will be played tomorrow, Sunday, May 20 starting at 12:35 p.m.
OTTAWA – The Ottawa Champions have postponed their game against the Trois-Rivières Aigles that was scheduled for Saturday, May 19 due to inclement weather. A doubleheader will be played tomorrow, Sunday, May 20 starting at 12:35 p.m.
Doors will open at RCGT Park at noon. Both games will be seven-inning affairs. Fans who had already purchased tickets for the postponed game can redeem their tickets at the Sunday doubleheader.
Sunday, May 20 will be David Gourlay Day at RCGT Park. The Champions are honouring their former president, who stepped down during the offseason. Gourlay was instrumental in getting professional baseball back to Ottawa and helped found the Champions organization.
The Champions dropped their season opener last night against the Aigles by a score of 5-2. Following the doubleheader on Sunday, Ottawa will welcome the New Jersey Jackals to RCGT Park for a three-game set that is set to get underway on Monday, May 21 (Victoria Day).
