Ottawa Champions and Oil Changers to Honour Chris Neil

2017 July 20

Ottawa, ON – The Ottawa Champions and Oil Changers have partnered together to pay tribute to an icon in the Ottawa hockey community.

Thursday, July 27th will be Chris Neil Appreciation Day at RCGT Park presented by Oil Changers where the former Ottawa Senators forward will be celebrated for his contributions on and off the ice.

The 50-50 proceeds from the game will go to support Roger’s House.

“I am very thankful and appreciative of my friends at Oil Changers and the Ottawa Champions for putting this event together,” said Neil. “I look forward to seeing you at the game and thank you all for your support of the Roger Neilson House.“

Neil will throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the game and the first 3000 fans will receive a commemorative poster courtesy of Oil Changers who have long worked with the Ottawa Senators legend.

All eight Oil Changers locations will also be providing tickets to the game for their customers.

“Oil Changers has been extremely proud of our 6-year partnership with Chris Neil; he brought a smiling face to our company,” said Oil Changers Vice-President Julia Parker.  “We wanted to thank him and his family for all that he’s done for the Ottawa area communities and what better way than to gather all his loyal fans in one night.”

In 15 NHL seasons, all with the Ottawa Senators, Chris Neil has 112 goals, 138 assists and 2522 penalty minutes in 1026 games.
