Hale, offence team up for bounce-back win over Aigles

2018 June 27

After losing by a large margin Tuesday night, the Champions had a response just one night later.

Trois-Rivieres, Que. – RHP Jake Hale allowed only three hits and two runs in a stellar seven-inning outing, helping the Ottawa Champions to a 7-2 win over Trois-Rivieres in the third game of their series Wednesday night.

The three hits he allowed were the only three of the Aigles outing, after RHP Danny Carela threw two hitless innings to close out the game.

Hale got some help from his offence as well – the Champions smacked 14 hits in the contest, including great offensive days from INF Vinny Guglietti, DH Sebastien Boucher, and OF Steve Brown

Guglietti had three hits, including a two-run home run in his first at-bat of the game, which pushed the Champions into a lead they would not relinquish.

The Champions and Aigles wrap up their three-game set Thursday night in Trois-Rivieres, with Ottawa gunning for the series win at 7:05 p.m. Ottawa then returns home for a weekend series starting Friday.
