Gillies Activated, Gil Placed on Disabled List

Ottawa, ON – The OTTAWA CHAMPIONS have activated OF TYSON GILLIES from the disabled and placed LHP YEAN CARLOS GIL on the disabled list.

GILLIES, 28, has been on the disabled list since June 24th after injuring his hamstring in a game against the Rockland Boulders.

Since joining the Champions on June 6th, the Vancouver, BC native is batting .349 with three homeruns and 13 RBI in 17 games.

GIL, 26, has a 0-5 record with a 4.80 ERA in eight starts this season but has struck out 49 batters in 45 innings pitched.

The Maracay, Venezuela native left his last start on Sunday with an elbow injury.
