CKDJ 107.9 to broadcast Champions baseball in 2018
Games can also be heard online and on mobile devices using www.ckdj.net.
OTTAWA – Ottawa Champions home games will return to the airwaves in 2018, after the team reached a deal with CKDJ 107.9 to broadcast all 54 Champions home games of the upcoming Can-Am League season.
CKDJ 107.9, a music and sports station based on the campus of Algonquin College, held the Champions radio rights for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. Mike Nellis, Champions Director of Communications, is thrilled to bring the station back into the fold.
“We are very excited to bring back the option of listening to Champions games over the air,” Nellis said. “Algonquin College’s radio program is well-known across the industry, and their campus station is among the best. We are very happy to join their programming list for the summer.”
Champions broadcasts will feature Nellis as lead play-by-play broadcaster, along with Graham Neysmith and Mac Vincent – two new additions to the broadcast team.
The radio team will bring every pitch, hit, and strike to Champions fans live from RCGT Park’s Bill Paterson memorial press box. The broadcasts will feature full pre- and post-game shows from CKDJ 107.9’s studio on the Algonquin College campus.
CKDJ 107.9 will also continue the tradition of supplying Champions fans with multiple platforms to follow the broadcasts. The games can be heard online and on mobile devices using www.ckdj.net.
The station’s new-look website allows for seamless listening on cell phones, so Champions fans can take the team with them wherever they go.
