Champions round out roster with signing of second baseman

OTTAWA – The Ottawa Champions have filled their roster out with the acquisition of a new infielder to replace the departed INF Steve Nyisztor.
 
INF Tyler Brown joins the Champions after beginning the 2018 season with the San Francisco Giants organization, splitting the campaign with High-A Augusta and Double-A Richmond.
 
Brown’s season totals give him an average of .261 between the two leagues, including an impressive line of .316 in his eight games played with the Eastern League’s Richmond Flying Squirrels.
 
He joins the team and will have the chance to become Ottawa’s starting second baseman, according to team manager Hal Lanier.
 
Ottawa opens up a six-game homestand tonight at RCGT Park. It starts with three games versus New Jersey, before the first-place Sussex County Miners come to the ballpark for the final time this year on the weekend.
