OTTAWA – The Champions notched another first-inning run, but that was all the scoring they got as they fell to the Trois-Rivières Aigles 6-1 on Sunday afternoon.

CF Chase Harris, who is settling in nicely to the leadoff spot, singled and then advanced to third on an error. DH Sebastien Boucher drove him in on a groundout. It’s the second straight game that Boucher has plated Harris in the opening frame.

Following the encouraging first inning, RHP Kevin McNorton silenced the Champions bats, as they would only get six more hits off him over his seven innings.

Champions RHP Austin Chrismon looked strong through the first two innings, but ran into some trouble in the third where he gave up three runs on five hits. The Aigles would tack on another run in the fourth to make the score 4-1.

RHP Andrew Cooper pitched a scoreless seventh frame and RHP Danny Carela gave up two runs in the eighth.

Harris, INF Steve Nyisztor and C Tyler Nordgren recorded multi-hit days, while Boucher had Ottawa’s only RBI.

The Champions will look to get back on track when they open up a weeklong homestand on Monday night against the Quebec Capitales at 7:05 p.m. Tickets for every Champions home game can be purchased at ottawachampions.com, in-person at the RCGT Park box office or by calling the Champs at 613-745-2255 (BALL).
