Mascot, "Champ"

Champ the mascot is iconic of Ottawa Champions' brand. He will be turning 5 years old this season and we're looking for the right person to make his 5th season the most memorable yet. Champ has the soul of a dedicated entertainer who isn't afraid to go out of their way to please. Champ is a people person who is full of energy and always enthusiastic, which shines through without even speaking a word. Champ loves fun and loves promoting fun even more.

That's the kind of mascot the Ottawa Champions have in Champ. Do you have what it takes to be the next Champ?


  • Perform as "Champ" the mascot at Ottawa Champions games, social events and community appearances.
  • Personally interact with Champions fans during games, social events and community appearances.
  • Assist in creating routines for promotional entertainment.
  • Operate their own mascot social media pages to self promote

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must be available to work all Ottawa Champions home games
  • Have the ability to work scheduled community event dates, including those outside of the Ottawa Champions home events, if necessary.
  • Must be a motivated individual with the desire to gain experience in a professional sport environment.
  • Have an outgoing and creative personality with a willingness and desire to have fun.
  • Have the ability to entertain without words.
  • Have the willingness to represent the Ottawa Champions, and our mission and core values, in a positive manner in and out of the stadium.
  • Previous experience as an entertainer is essential.
  • Previous experience as a mascot is highly recommended.
  • Access to a car is highly recommended.

Gameday Operations Coordinator

The Ottawa Champions Baseball Club is looking for a qualified Gameday Operations Coordinator for all 51 Champions home games. The selected candidate will work under and alongside the Event and Operations Manager to promote an entertaining environment at RCGT Park. This is a full-time position beginning in mid-April and ending in early September. The position requires availability during many evenings, weekends and holidays.


  • Help organize on field and off field logistics for gameday.
  • Help construct gameday event scripts.
  • Help in devising new and creative in-game and in-stadium entertainment, including on- field promotions, video pieces, fan interactive elements, mascot skits, pregame shows, etc.
  • Participate in the logistics of non-game related events i.e., season ticket holder events, fan festivals, community events, Training Camp, etc.
  • Help to conceptualize and complete the promotional calendar which includes special events, theme nights and giveaways in conjunction with marketing, ticket sales, corporate partnerships and community relations.
  • Interact with all departments to contribute to the development and implementation of marketing and sales campaigns through in-stadium promotion.
  • Opportunity to act as In-Game Host, if desired.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

The Ottawa Champions are seeking a candidate interested in preparing themselves for a career in either marketing or promotions in the sports industry.

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferred, but not required.
  • Innovative, outgoing attitude.
  • Self-motivated with positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Interest and knowledge in baseball is required.
  • Bilingualism, preferred, but not required.
